How to get to The Star Gold Coast

The resort is on Broadbeach Island, between the Nerang River and the Gold Coast Highway. Below: each route with what the airport, the resort and Translink publish about it, and a Google Maps route you can open.

From Gold Coast Airport (OOL)

  1. By taxi, rideshare or transfer The resort says it is half an hour from Gold Coast Airport at Coolangatta. At the airport the taxi rank is at the southern end of the terminal near International Arrivals; rideshare pick-up is just outside Domestic Arrivals; Con-X-Ion transfers have a desk open 10am to 5pm and an e-kiosk outside those hours.   2. By bus and tram Route 777 is a limited-stop express bus from the airport to Burleigh Heads station, where it connects with the G:link tram north to Broadbeach. Ride to Broadbeach North, the closest stop to the resort. The tram's southern extension to Burleigh Heads opened on 9 August 2026 (Wikipedia, secondary). From Brisbane

  1. By car from the city The resort calls it a 90-minute drive from Brisbane. Approach via Hooker Boulevard and Nerang–Broadbeach Road, or the Gold Coast Highway and T E Peters Drive — the access roads the hotel names for its car park. Route by car from Brisbane City QLD in Google Maps ↗

  3. By train and tram Translink's Gold Coast rail line meets the G:link tram at Helensvale station (Wikipedia, secondary); from there the tram runs south through Surfers Paradise to Broadbeach North. Around the Gold Coast

  1. From Surfers Paradise Broadbeach is about 4.3 km south-south-east of Surfers Paradise (Wikipedia, secondary). The G:link runs every 7.5 minutes on weekdays and every 10 minutes at weekends between 7am and 7pm, per the resort. Route by public transport from Surfers Paradise QLD in Google Maps ↗

Arriving by car: three things

  1. Height Nothing over 1.95 m fits the car park, and oversized vehicles and trailers are not permitted.
  2. Timing The car park is regularly full on Friday and Saturday evenings. Arriving at 3pm on a Friday beats arriving at 7pm.
  3. Dorsett guests Use levels 3, 3M and 4, which are the most convenient for that hotel, or drop bags at reception first.
