Privacy policy
What we collect when you send a room request, why, who sees it, and how to have it corrected or deleted. Written to the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you send a room request we receive what you type: name, email address, phone number if given, number of guests, arrival and departure dates, the room you chose and your wishes, plus the page you sent it from. Our server also records technical data that every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type, in its logs.
Why we collect it
Only to handle your request: to check availability and rates with the hotel or a booking partner and to reply to you. We share the details needed for that check — dates, guests, room and relevant wishes, and your name if a reservation is made — with the hotel or the partner. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for unrelated marketing.
Analytics and tags
Pages load Google Tag Manager after your first interaction or a few seconds after the page has loaded. It is used to measure visits and to count submitted requests as conversions for our advertising. Google may set cookies and receive your IP address when this happens.
Google Maps
The map on our how to get there page is served by Google Maps. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies. On the home page the map loads only after you press 'Show the map'. Links that open Google Maps take you to Google's own site, under Google's privacy terms.
Storage and overseas disclosure
Requests are stored on servers we control and in our email system. Some of our service providers may store data outside Australia; we use providers that protect it to a standard comparable with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How long we keep it
We keep requests for as long as needed to handle them and any resulting booking, and to meet our legal obligations, then delete them. You can ask us to delete yours earlier.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you and to have it corrected. Email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
