Parking: what the resort promises, and what it does not
Short version: there is a car park, it is often full at weekends, and a room booking does not reserve you a space — unless you are in The Darling.
The rules in one list
- Secure, undercover car park, open 24 hours, seven days.
- Availability is limited and not guaranteed; it is regularly at full capacity on Friday and Saturday evenings.
- No parking for vehicles taller than 1.95 m; no oversized vehicles or trailers.
- Guests of The Star Grand and The Star Residences pay a flat rate per night for the length of the stay ($20 per night when we checked on 29 October 2026).
- The Darling offers one car space per room on site.
- Dorsett Gold Coast has no car park; its guests use the resort car park at a discounted daily rate.
- Valet parking at The Star Grand, subject to availability: $65 per day.
- The Car Park Desk is on level 3, next to The Star Grand concierge.
Casual rates
If you are not a hotel guest — or the flat rate does not apply — casual rates are charged by time, with a cheaper Monday-to-Thursday column and a dearer Friday-to-Sunday one. As published on 29 October 2026, entry after 6am:

The parking day resets at 6am. Accessible bays are close to the car park entrance lobbies. The resort also runs a separate scheme for its loyalty members, which we do not cover.
When the car park is full
- Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre 2684–2690 Gold Coast Highway, Broadbeach — paid parking, about a ten-minute walk over the footbridge. Its rates are on its own website.
- Oasis Shopping Centre, Broadbeach Paid parking named by Dorsett as an alternative.
- Drop and go Drop luggage at reception before parking off site, as Dorsett suggests.

Planning a Saturday arrival by car? Tell our desk in the wishes box. We will ask the hotel about parking for your dates — the answer is usually 'cannot be guaranteed', but a Darling suite changes that.
