Families, extra beds and access

A casino resort can work for a family weekend, but only if you know which doors children may walk through. Here are the rules, hotel by hotel and venue by venue.

Extra beds, hotel by hotel

Where children can and cannot go

  1. The casino and its venues: 18+ It is an offence for anyone under 18 to be in the casino's licensed area. Food Quarter, Cherry Bar and Sports Bar are on the casino level and are adults-only; Atrium Bar and Nineteen's bar also turn away under-18s.
  2. Restaurants that welcome children Cucina Vivo publishes a kids menu. Harvest Buffet lets one child aged 5–12 eat free per paying adult at Friday dinner, and children 0–4 eat free; this is not offered on public holidays. Kiyomi welcomes supervised children but has no kids menu, no highchairs and limited space for prams.
  3. Nineteen at The Star Under-18s may dine in the restaurant with an adult but must come in through The Darling. They cannot enter the bar.
  4. Family-friendly outdoor nights New Year's Eve on The Lawn is described as family friendly until 9pm, with face painting from 6pm and fireworks at 9pm.

Accessibility

The resort's getting-here page lists accessible parking bays close to the car park entrance lobbies, accessible toilets throughout, and lift access in The Star Theatre on the Stalls level. For rooms, it asks guests to contact Reservations about rooms and apartments that suit their needs and to mention any requirements when booking. The number and type of accessible rooms are not published, so we cannot list them; when you send a request through our desk, write your needs in the wishes box and we will ask the hotel directly before offering a room.

If you need step-free access, a roll-in shower or a hoist, say so in the request. We would rather come back with a clear answer than offer a room that does not work.

Pets

None of the four hotel pages we read mentions pets. We would not assume they are allowed; ask before you book.

Ask our desk for a room on Broadbeach Island

Three short steps: dates, the room you have in mind, where to reply. Our desk takes it from there.

How it works: the request goes to this site's booking desk, not to the hotel. We check availability and the current rate with the hotel's reservations team or a booking partner and answer by email. We never ask for card details here, and a request is not a booking.

If your request turns into a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner that completes it pays us a commission. You pay nothing extra for asking. How we earn.

Received. Our desk now checks the dates with the hotel's reservations team or a booking partner and replies by email, usually within one business day. Nothing is booked or charged until you say yes to an offer.
